Fintiri lauds military for fighting insurgency headlong

The Adamawa state governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, has commended the Nigerian Military in its effort to tackle activities of insurgents in the state and northeast in general.

The governor while speaking during his visit to troops of the 144 Battalion of the Nigerian Army base in Madagali, said the military has restored peace and tranquillity in the region.

He also commended the Nigerian Military and its troops for rekindling consistent hopes for the people of the area.

Assuring the state government's support in the operations of the Military, Fintiri said, Adamawa state will remain supportive to the security agencies in the state for liberating the state from insurgents.

Also speaking at the venue, the commanding officer of the 144 Battalion, Lieutenant Colonel Suleiman, said the Nigerian military will continue to discharge its duties in line with the mandate handed to it.
