Speaker Gbajabiamila swears-in new House of Rep members

- New members have been inaugurated in the House of Representatives

- The green chambers witnessed a flurry of activities as Kano state governor, Abdullahi Ganduje was also present

- Alhassan Doguwa, Kano lawmaker returned as the house majority leader after he was initially ousted by the Court of Appeal

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, has sworn in

Six lawmakers have been sworn-in by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila.

The lawmakers recently won their re-run elections in various federal constituencies across the nation.

Among them is the former majority leader of the house, Honourable Alhassan Doguwa, who is set to retain the position.

Gbajabiamila inaugurated the members into the green chambers during plenary on Wednesday, January 29 in Abuja, the nation’s capital.

Kano state governor, Dr Abdullahi Ganduje, was among the guests who were in the house to witness the ceremony.

Following his induction into the chamber, a majority of the lawmakers agreed to return Doguwa as the Majority Leader of the House.

Recall that the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, on Tuesday, January 28 endorsed Doguwa for the position

Oshiomhole said the decision of the leadership of the House of Representatives not to fill the position was an indication that his colleagues were optimistic that Doguwa would be re-elected again.
