Obaseki tells Oshiomhole to hands off Edo APC activities or face his wrath

- Adams Oshiomhole has gotten a strong warning from his successor, Godwin Obaseki, over the crisis in Edo state

- Obaseki warned that he would deal with Oshiomhole if the latter continues to interfere in party activities in the state

- The governor says his predecessor would not take any of the things he does now in the state

The crisis between Adams Oshiomhole, former governor of Edo, and his successor, Godwin Obaseki, may have reached a boiling point as the latter has threatened to deal with the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) if he does not stay away from the party's activities in the state.

Obaseki warned Oshiomhole to stay away from meddling with the affairs of the APC in the state while noting that his predecessor would not take any of such misdemeanour he was allegedly perpetrating in the state.

The Nation reports that the governor dished out the warning when he met with chairmen of the local government areas in the state.

He said the party was regretting bringing Oshiomhole in and giving him the opportunity to rise without taking the pain to understand what kind of person he was.

The governor asked the chairman of the party in the state to deal with anybody who tries to go against the agreement of the party.

Obaseki reminded that the APC is not a one-man party.

He lamented that despite the huge resources available at a time under Oshiomhole, the party secretariat was littered until the landlord of the building sent the political organisation out.

He said this was why he decided to move the party to a more beautiful place.

“All these nonsense they are doing. If anybody in the name of our party tries to do anything contrary to what we have agreed as a party we will deal with that person ruthlessly no matter who he is," he said.

Obaseki noted that the party remains supreme because of its members and not the chairman.

“I am the Governor of Edo state and I so authorise it. If anyone comes to your ward or local government to do things outside what the party has agreed I hereby authorise you to deal with that person seriously," Obaseki said.

“We are warning the suspended national chairman. If he continues his activities in Edo state, I will show him that I am the governor of Edo state," he warned.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Obaseki issued the warning just days after the venue of a rally organised by Oshiomhole was razed.
