Supreme Court: PDP will support Ihedioha to finally get justice - Tambuwal
- The hope for victory on the part of Emeka Ihedioha may not be completely over
- This is as the PDP has said that it will lend its support to him as he continues to get a reversal of the Supreme Court's verdict in his case
- This was revealed by Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto, the new chairman of PDP's governors' forum
After his appointment as the chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)'s governors' forum, Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto state has revealed how he will work to move the opposition party forward.
Tambuwal said that he will start by trying to reunite all aggrieved governors on the platform of the PDP and get them to fully key into the vision of the party both now and in the future, Daily Trust reports.
He said that his tenure as the head of the forum will bring about unity and repositioning of the party in the capacity of his office.
On the issue of the Supreme Court's ruling that removed Emeka Ihedioha as the former governor of Imo and installed Hope Uzodinma in his place, Tambuwal said that the PDP will do everything in its power to ensure that justice is served at last.
The Sokoto governor said: “We are very sure that by the time the Supreme Court really takes a second look at the matter, there may be some change in its position.

“So, we are praying hard and we are working hard to get what has not been properly delivered in terms of justice in that matter and that it is addressed."
Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that Tambuwal had been appointed as the chairman of the PDP governors' forum.
Tambuwal's appointment came on Monday, January 27, as the tenure of his predecessor, Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa will end on Monday, February 3.
According to Tambuwal's special adviser on media, Mohammad Bello, his appointment was done during the PDP's National Executive Council (NEC) meeting at the party's national secretariat.
In another post, Legit.ng reported that in a statement on Wednesday, January 15, the former governor claimed he was clearly elected by the people of Imo.
Ihedioha further alleged that the mandate given to him by the people of the state has now been truncated and cut short by the apex court.
While recalling what his administration has done in the last seven months since he assumed office, the former governor went spiritual as he said: "God knows why he has allowed this current state of affairs".
