Wizkid would have won the Grammy if he was nominated - Nigerian man

- A Nigerian man has taken to social media to share his thought about Burna Boy not winning a Grammy

- According to the man identified as Doctor Olu, Wizkid would have won if he were nominated for the award

- Olu went further to say that Wizkid is the one with more international experience

Earlier on, Legit.ng reported the news of how Beninese music legend, Angelique Kidjo, won the award for the Best World Music, for which she was nominated alongside Burna Boy.

Amidst the disappointment of many Nigerians who hoped Burna Boy would emerge winner, is a Nigerian doctor identified as Olu, who took to the platform to admit that he knew Burna Boy would not win it.

According to him, Wizkid has more international recognition and would have most likely won the award if he were nominated.

In a post which appears to have been taken down, he wrote: "I knew Burna Boy will not win this Grammy Award, Wizkid already had an experience with Grammy already and has more international recognition. If it was Wizzy, the Grammy would have been an easy win for us."

Meanwhile, taking the stage to accept the award for which she was nominated alongside Burna Boy, Angelique Kidjo gave a heart-melting acceptance speech in which she hailed the Nigerian music superstar for his musical talent.

Kidjo who started off her speech by dedicating the award to Burna Boy stated that he is one of the African artistes changing the way Africa as a whole is perceived. Her speech was welcomed with huge applause from the audience.

Despite the disappointment of many Nigerian music lovers, Burna Boy appears to have taken it in good stride and has even gone ahead to send a sweet message to Kidjo after she dedicated her award to him.
