Leadership problem: We have failed Nigeria as leaders - Ortom
- Governor Ortom has faulted Nigerian leaders
- According to the governor, the leaders failed to make the country a better place
- Ortom however urged Nigerians to pray for their leaders
Following the systemic failures of Nigerian leaders, Governor Samuel Ortom of has blamed politicians for the current woes of the country.
The governor also called on Nigerians to pray fervently for the country leaders.
Ortom said this when he hosted the leadership of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Benue state chapter, Vanguard News reports.
The Christian body was there to congratulate him over his victory at the Supreme Court.
Meanwhile, Nigerian have quickly reacted to the statement by the governor.
Abdulfatai Yusuf Bello, a social media user urged the governor not to generalise issues. He said the governor must hold himself responsible for failing Benue people.
"Governor Ortom should hold himself responsible for failing the people of Benue state. He should not generalise issue, because Lagos, Ogun,Kano, and other states are doing well. Why can't Benue do more on agriculture? Why can't he make the state the agriculture hub of Nigeria?"
On his part, Ade Adeola Ajayi argued that Nigerian leaders failed because they have no leadership skills.
"You guys failed because non of you has leadership qualities. You're there to make your cash, no love of the masses in your hearts."
Meanwhile, Aondohembah Kikih believes other politicians might not be happy hearing this.
"Have you consulted your colleagues, co-politicians and followers before saying it? I don't think they would be happy hearing this core truth from you because they are busy defending their mouth."

Recall that Legit.ng had reported that the ruling that upheld the election victory of Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue was taken in good faith by his rival, Emmanuel Jime of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Apart from saying that he will not be moved by jeers and insults. Jime said that his defeat is part of the experiences that will pave a greater future for the state as well as the party.
