It was also alleged that the Dominican prime minister gave Madueke the diplomatic passport in exchange for a secret deal.

The deal is said to have been linked to the sale of an apartment in New York.

The building, Legit.ng gathered was bought by a shell company for $2.2 million with no mortgage.

While Skerrit's family stayed in New York, United States, he said his wife resided in the apartment due to the kind gesture of an unnamed friend.

He also denied any wrongdoing while claiming that he did not collect any money from Diezani for the passport.
