Leicester City ace, Wilfred Ndidi, says there will not be a room for complacency when Super Eagles kick-start their 2022 World Cup qualifying campaign, vowing that every match will be taken with seriousness.
Ndidi made this known in a reaction to Nigeria being seeded in Group C alongside Cape Verde, Central Africa Republic and Liberia.
Legit.ng had earlier reported that Nigeria, three-time African champions, qualified for their sixth World Cup tournament in 2018 and will be looking to make it four times in a row to the oil-rich nation Qatar.
Ahead of the kick-start, the Leicester City star said Nigeria will keep the ground running on tough note, saying every qualifier game will not be taken with levity.
The 23-year-old midfield ace said Supers Eagles will leave no stone unturned when they start to face their brothers from other top African countries, backing Nigeria to qualify for the World Cup.
“This is the World Cup, no room for complacency," Ndidi told Super Eagles official page.
"Every game must be taken seriously. Our first game is going to be the most important as well as all our home games, and even away games.
We must make it to the 3rd round,” he further submitted.
Ndidi has the most tackles and interception in the Europe's top five leagues: Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga and French league.
The 23-year-old defensive midfielder was ruled out of pitch action till February after undergoing minor surgery.
Ndidi was a surprise omission in the Foxes squad that faced Aston Villa in the Carabao Cup semi-final first leg at King Power Stadium.
Meanwhile, Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers has assured that Ndidi will be back in action when his side face West Ham, saying there are 'great chances' the midfielder will make a swift return.
