Malabu oil scam: EFCC to arraign Adoke, others on Tuesday, January 21

- Mohammed Adoke, a former Attorney General of the Federation will be arraigned in court by the EFCC on Tuesday, January 21

- Adoke and his co-defendants will be arraigned before two different courts in Abuja

- The former AGF is facing charges over the role he played in the Oil Prospecting Licence (OPL) 245 popularly known as Malabu oil scam

Nigeria's former Attorney General of the Federation, Mohammed Adoke, will be arraigned before a Federal Capital Territory High Court on Tuesday, January 21.

Adoke will be arraigned on a 12-count charge alongside one Aliyu Abubakar, Rasky Gbinigie, as well as Malabu Oil and Gas Limited by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Channels Television reports that the commission has concluded all its plans to arraign the former AGF after it filed the charge sheet which also listed Nigeria Agip Exploration Limited, Shell Nigeria Ultra Deep Limited, and Shell Nigeria Exploration Production Company Limited as defendants.

Also filed before a Federal High Court in Abuja is, a seven-count against Adoke and Abubakar over the role the minister played in the controversial Oil Prospecting Licence (OPL) 245, popularly referred to as Malabu oil scam.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that Adoke was arrested by officials of the EFCC upon his return to Nigeria from Dubai, the United Arab Emirates on Thursday, December 19.

The former AGF who is facing charges bordering on alleged abuse of office and money laundering was whisked away from the foot of the aircraft by EFCC agents and taken to the office of Interpol in Abuja.
