Amotekun: Afe Babalola condemns Malami’s opposition to initiative

- Chief Afe Babalola has backed Amotekun initiative

- According to the SAN, it is wrong for Malami to issue a statement on issues like this

- Going further, he said it falls on the FG to take the governors who formed Amoteken to court

Chief Afe Babalola has urged the attorney general of the federation and minister of justice, Abubakar Malami, not to issue pronouncement if he is against Amotekun initiative.

The senior advocate of Nigeria asked the AGF to instead take the six southwest governors to court over the initiative.

According to Babalola, Malami cannot constitute himself as a lawful court dishing out judgement on issues of this nature, This Day reports.

Going further, he said it will be wrong of the southwest governors to file an action against the federal government over the issue.

Babalola disclosed this while speaking with journalists in Ado Ekiti. The federal government should be the one approaching the court to seek redress, he stated.
