Supreme Court finally affirms Tambuwal as governor of Sokoto
- Just minutes after declaring Abdullahi Ganduje's victory in Kano, the Supreme Court says Aminu Tambuwal won the Sokoto governorship election
- The panel of judges said the ruling was agreed to by all of them on behalf of the Supreme Court
- The apex court maintained that Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto's case against Tambuwal cannot stand any value
The Supreme Court, on Monday, January 20, affirmed the election victory of Aminu Waziri Tambuwal as authentic winner of the March 9, 2019, governorship poll in Sokoto state.
Legit.ng learned that the members of the team of justices led by Sylvester Ngwuta all agreed with the judgement in favour of Tambuwal.
Reading out the lead judgement on the case, Justice Uwani Abba-Aji said on behalf of the Supreme Court that the evidence presented against Tambuwal by Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto of the All Progressives Congress (APC) was of no value.
Tambuwal contested for the 2019 governorship election on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Legit.ng reports that Tambuwal's victory at the Supreme Court happened just minutes after the governor of Kano state was declared as the actual winner of the March 9, 2019, election in Kano.

The report said the Supreme Court gave its judgement in the suit filed by Abba Kabir Yusuf, the candidate of the PDP, challenging the election of Ganduje, who contested for the seat and won on the platform of the APC.
