Bauchi governor Bala Mohammed arrives Supreme Court as Nigeria awaits judgement

- Bala Mohammed is already at the Supreme Court ahead of a governorship election judgement on his victory on March 9, 2019

- The governor recently returned from London after a controversial health issue

- A coalition of elders in Bauchi had appealed to residents of the state to take the outcome of the judgement in good fate

Minutes to the commencement of the Supreme Court judgement concerning issues that followed his governorship election victory, Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi state has arrived the venue of the ruling.

Governor Mohammed stormed the Supreme Court as anxiety continues to spread in Bauchi ahead of the ruling which was deferred to Monday, January 20.

Daily Trust reports that the governor, who had been in London based on controversial issues with his health, appeared at the court ahead of the election.

Legit.ng had reported that Governor Mohammed, while in London, denied falling ill and being bedridden abroad.

According to Governor Mohammed, even though he travelled out of the country, he was not in a hospital abroad as was being insinuated.

Mohammed said he was in the United Kingdom for medical care, but did not mention the condition.

Meanwhile, the Coalition of Elders for Peace and Good Governance (CEPGG) in Bauchi at the weekend urged the residents of the state to accept in good fate whatever comes from the Supreme Court judgement.

The group made the appeal in a statement signed by the Sarkin Arewa Bauchi and 21 others on Sunday, January 19, they said the appeal is important going by how the tensed the political atmosphere in the state is as the court is about to pass judgement.

The report added that the organisation said that the state has always been known for peace and that no violence has ever happened because election losers seek legal resolutions.
