In his remarks, leader of the group, Hassan Garba who condemned the judgment in totality said that it was robbery against the PDP and the people of Imo state,
His words: “We don’t accept that judgement by the Supreme Court which removed our candidate, Mr Emeka Ihedioha and put senator Hope Uzodinma of APC. Something must be done to save our democracy.”
However, the protest which was peaceful at the beginning turned violent as some persons amongst them started fighting over some issues not known as at the time of this report.
Earlier this week, the PDP had through its spokesman, Kola Ologbodiyan, described the ruling as another sad commentary on the nation’s democratic order.
The PDP lamented that the people's collective destiny had been taken from the governor they chose and handed over to someone and a political party that the residents do not want.
It lamented that Ihedioha's progress as governor of Imo state is now being jeopardised as a result of the judgement.
In a related development, Lady Ebere Ihedioha, the immediate past first lady of Imo state, has reacted to her husband's defeat at the Supreme Court.
Mrs Ihedioha, a former deputy branch head at the Abuja office of the Securities and Exchange Commission, expressed solidarity with her husband in an emotional message posted on her Twitter page, vowing to stand by him as he goes through a difficult phase.
