Buhari has done well - Bisi Akande tells Nigerians
- President Muhammadu Buhari has been scored high in his administration's performance
- Pa Bisi Akande said the president performed well in security, economy and in tackling corruption in Nigeria
- According to Akande, President Buhari is fulfilling all his campaign promises to the people of Nigeria
A former chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Bisi Akande, has scored the President Muhammadu Buhari administration high.
Akande said the president, since assuming office in May 2015, has performed extremely well for all Nigerians.
Speaking to journalists in his country home at Ila-Orangun, during his 81st birthday celebration, Akande said the president is fulfilling all his campaign promises to the people of Nigeria.
Highlighting areas where the president has surpassed his expectations, Akande said President Buhari has succeeded in tackling insecurity, corruption and growing the country’s economy.
Akande said: “I want to judge by the result; he said he would tackle insecurity, Buhari has degraded quite considerably all negative aspects of insecurity he inherited when he came to power."
“He (Buhari) was talking about waging war against corruption, little did he know the enormity of the task. I am sure he must be perspiring now under the load he is carrying on his head; if Buhari is having problems, it is because corruption is fighting back, yet he is winning the battle gradually," Akande said.
Boasting that the president before assuming power said he would grow the economy, Akande noted: "He talked about growing the economy, despite the battered economy he inherited, it is growing steadily though slowly. I can assure you Buhari is different from Jonathan."
