Amotekun: To hell with your presidency - Afenifere to Miyetti Allah
- The leadership of the Afenifere group has condemned the remarks by the Miyetti Allah association on the Operation Amotekun
- Yinka Odumakin described the remark by the cattle breeders as an insolence
- According to Odumakin, the north can go with its presidency as he insisted that south west region cared less about it
In a swift reaction to the recent remark made by the Miyetti Allah Kaute Hore on the establishment of Operation Amotekun in the south west to curb criminal activities in the region, the leadership of the Afenifere has said the north can go with its presidency.
Myetti Allah while describing the Amotekun operation as illegal warned that the south west may lose its opportunity to secure the presidency by 2023.
However, reacting to the proclamation by the association, the national publicity secretary of the Afenifere organisation, Yinka Odumakin described the remark by the cattle breeders as an insolence.
Odumakin queried why herders could have the audacity to threaten citizens of a whole nation without consequences.
He said the south west region cared less about the presidency and the north could as well do away with the presidency.
“Miyetti Allah now owns the Presidency which they can gift to who they want and deny who they choose? What insolence? Cowherders threatening a people that produced the first lawyer in 1879 because a lawyer who doesn’t know the law is overreaching himself? Can they go and tell Yoruba in Benin Republic such idiocy?" Odumakin asked.
Further, stating that it is now a crime to inhabit in the same country with all, Odumakin said if Yoruba would be colonised, is it by those we should employ on their ranches
“To hell with their Presidency if the condition for it is that we must allow them to continue to waste the lives of our people," Odumakin said.
"Who told these people Yoruba cannot opt for self-determination and have our own president? If they see the protection of our lives as politics, we are definitely in a wrong and impossible country," he added.
