Ahead of the planned judgement of the Supreme Court concerning the governorship election in Bauchi, the state’s governor, Bala Mohammed, has denied falling ill and being bedridden abroad.

He described claims on social media that he is seriously ill and admitted abroad as mere rumour carried by those he called mischief-makers.

According to him, the insinuation that he is bedridden is being propagated by members of the opposition ahead of the Supreme Court judgement on the election in the state.

“I wish to state that this dubious line of thought exists only in the wicked and diabolical world of the rumour merchants.

“Our governor was away on a medical appointment with his doctor, had a minor procedure and returned to his temporary abode the same day. He even had a road walk barely three hours after the procedure,” the statement said.

The statement recalled that the governor personally posted on social media recently where he looked cheerful.
