Insecurity: Gunmen kidnap Jigawa lawmaker’s wife
Gunmen have allegedly abducted a housewife in Jahun Local Government Area of Jigawa, the police confirmed.
A security source told News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the woman is the wife of a Jigawa state assembly members who is representing Miga constituency, Haruna Dangyatun.
SP Abdu Jinjiri, the police public relations officer in the state, said that the victim, Hajiya Zahra’u Haruna, was kidnapped by three unknown gunmen on Saturday, January 11, at about 4 a.m. at Dangyatum village.
“Today at about 4 am, a housewife named Zahra’u Haruna, was kidnapped by unknown gunmen in Dangyatum village in Miga local government area.
“Three unknown men came to the residence of victim with dane guns and cutlasses and took her to unknown destination," he said.
He also added that the police are on top of the situation as they are doing everything to track down the criminals.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that some gunmen attacked a seminary in Kakau along the Kaduna-Abuja expressway and went away with four of the students.
The registrar of the Good Shepherd Catholic Major Seminary, Rev Fr (Dr) Joel Usman, said that the gunmen launched an attack on the premises of the seminary at about 10.30 pm on Wednesday, January 8.

According to Usman, the attack by the gunmen at the seminary's premises lasted for about 30 minutes.
Usman said: “Good Shepherd Major Seminary was attacked by armed bandits yesterday January 8, 2020 between 10.30 and 11.00 pm.
"After headcount of students with security agents, four Seminarians have been declared missing. Kindly say a prayer for their release."
