NPF mourn gallant officers killed by Boko Haram in Borno state

The Borno Command of the Nigerian Police Force is mourning the loss of three of its officers during an encounter with the Boko Haram terrorists in the state.
The gallant officers, who were men of the Special Anti Robbery Squad, were killed after a fierce battle with the insurgents at Kundori village in Konduga local government area of Borno state.
The SARS commander in Borno state, Ibrahim Mohammed, broke the news via social media.
“Yesterday 6th Jan 2020 at about 10:30 AM, SARS team on forwarding operation base at Kundori village, Konduga local government area along Maiduguri/Damaturu highway came under heavy attack by Boko haram insurgents armed with five gun trucks.
“After a fierce battle, we lost the above great fighters who have made the squad and the Nigeria police command proud in previous encounters. We pray that Almighty God in His infinite mercy grants them eternal peace in paradise,” he wrote while sharing their published obituary pictures.

Boko Haram attacks have increased astronomically in recent days in Borno state.
On Tuesday, January 7, the terrorists'engaged soldiers in a gun battle at Monguno sector 3 bases in the state previously occupied by some of the 1200 Chadian troops who pulled out of Nigeria recently.
“The terrorist stormed the town around 7 pm; they came with many gun trucks and the battle is ongoing,” a source said.
After hours of the gunbattle, the Nigerian military eventually overpowered the terrorists and took control of the base.
