The Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) on Thursday, January 2, obtained a court order to detain the former senator who represented Kaduna Central during the eight National Assembly, Shehu Sani, for 14 days to allow unfettered investigation of his alleged involvement in name dropping and extortion.

Vanguard reports that the development came just as the chairman/CEO of ASD Motors, Alhaji Sani Dauda, denied Sani's claims, insisting that he was relying on complaints against the senator.

Legit.ng gathered that the newspaper said the complainant also alleged that Shehu Sani dropped the name of the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), asking him to pay N4 million which the CJN would give to four judges who would ensure that the case by one Abubakar against the ASD boss did not see the light of the day.
