Police parade banker who led robbers to attack Abuja financial house
- The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) parades 30-year-old Larry Ehizo for allegedly leading armed robbers to the bank where he works
- Ehizo confesses that he was forced by one of his friends to carry out the act and that he actually drove the suspects to the bank
- The banker also says he was promised the sum of N7 million
The four suspected armed robbers who raided a bank in Mpape, Abuja on December 27, have been paraded by the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) command of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF).
They were paraded with some other suspects by the command.
The police gave their identities as Larry Ehizo, 30; Timothy Joe, 21; Princewill Obinna and Elijah David.
Daily Sun reports that Ehizo, a staff of the commercial bank, was claimed to have connived with the suspects to rob the financial house.
Ehizo, a political science graduate, it was reported, was the one who drove the suspected robbers in his car into the bank premises and led them into the banking hall.
To further beat the Close Circuit Camera Television (CCTV), the bank staff, who said he was promised N7 million, reportedly handed the robbery suspects black clothes to tie their faces.
He confessed that he actually met a friend, whose name he mentioned as Ernest in November and that in the course of discussion, the latter complained about the services at his bank which resulted in an argument.
“He said he was going to hurt someone and I told him not to do that and that the highest he can do is maybe rob the bank to make them feel bad.
“I did not know he had that on record and he used that to threaten that after some time that I must take the people that he would bring into the bank," Ehizo, who has been with the bank for two years, said.
He said Ernest threatened his family after then adding that he was afraid to report to the police for fear of being attacked.
He said Ernest later brought his colleagues and rebuffed his pleas.

“He even followed to the bank but escaped when they caught them (his colleagues). He insisted I take my car to take them inside the place and that was the only thing I was supposed to do and leave the rest for them to do.
“He waited to see when we entered inside and he immediately called me and I did everything out of fear of not dying and not having anyone dying because of me," he said adding that Ernest, a customer of the bank, waited to see them enter the premises.
