Micheal Essien names Enyeama in his African best XI of the decade

Micheal Essien has included former Super Eagles shot-stopper Vincent Enyeama in his African best XI of the decade.

The former Chelsea star who won the Champions League and the FA Cup for the London club also picked Liverpool duo of Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah.

The Ghanaian legend also selected brothers Kolo and Yaya Toure in his line up alongside former Blues teammate Didier Drogba.

Essien who was part of the Black Stars squad that qualified for the quarter finals of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa did not leave himself out.

Barcelona's Samuel Eto'o who won Champions League and La Liga titles also made the cut in the star-studded XI.

Ex-Tottenham and Cameroon left-back Benoit Assou-Ekotto as well as Napoli's defender Kalidou Koulibaly were also involved.

Former Juventus and Bayern Munich defender Medhi Benatia completed Essien's best XI in the continent.

The likes of Gabon star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyand and Man City's Riyad Mahrez were obviously missing in the squad.

Ex-Nigerian international Enyeama played the majority of the decade in Ligue 1 with Lille.
