Armed robbers attack Khadi, kidnap driver in Kogi

- The Khadi of the Sharia Court of Appeal in Kogi state has been shot in his arm by suspected armed robbers

- Bala Muhammed was shot along the Okene-Lokoja road on Sunday, December 29, while on his way to attend Ajanah Basketball championship competition

- The driver attached to the Khadi was kidnapped by the suspected armed robbers during the incident

Some gunmen suspected to be armed robbers on Sunday, December 29, shot at the Kadi of the Kogi state Sharia Court of Appeal, Bala Muhammed.

Daily Trust reports that the khadi was attacked by the suspected robbers along the Okene-Lokoja road on Sunday.

It was gathered that the Khadi was on his way to attend Ajanah Basketball championship competition when the incident occurred leaving his driver kidnapped.

Eyewitnesses said the khadi's vehicle was forced to a stop at gunpoint before Itakpe by the armed men who shot him on his arm.

The Khadi was also robbed of his belongings before his driver was abducted by the armed robbers.

He was later rushed to Okene general hospital for treatment before he was later brought back to Lokoja.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that following the growing security challenges in Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari met with the service chiefs at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

The meeting between the president and the service chiefs took place on Monday, December 30, with the Chief of Army Staff, Tukur Buratai reportedly absent.
