R. Kelly accused of bribery to get Aaliyah an ID, pleads innocent
- R. Kelly is facing many charges related to young girls and sexual misbehaviour
- One of the accusations made against the singer is that he bribed an official to get singer Aaliyah a fake ID
- This was allegedly done just a day before he married the young lady, who was only 15 at the time
R. Kelly insists that he is innocent of a claim of bribery made against him. He has pleaded not guilty of bribing an official to get a fake identification document for late singer Aaliyah Haughton.
She was only 15 at the time and one day after allegedly bribing the official, the two got married.
This is the latest charge in a criminal case accusing him of running a many year-long scheme to recruit underage girls for sex, according to TimesLIVE.
Kelly and Aaliyah got married but the marriage was annulled in 1995.
Kelly entered his plea before U.S. District Judge Ann Donnelly in Brooklyn federal court by video conference from Illinois, where he is currently jailed, Legit.ng learnt.
