Edo APC member call for Oshiomhole's resignation

- The leader of the factional All Progressives Congress in Edo state has called for the resignation of Adams Oshiomhole as the national chairman of the ruling party

- Anselm Ojezua said Oshiomhole should resign because he was already suspended by his ward

- The APC member accused the national chairman of orchestrated the crisis rocking the party to discredit efforts of the governor of Edo state

A member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo state has called for the resignation of Adams Oshiomhole as the national chairman of the party.

One of the party members in the state, Anselm Ojezua, accused oshiomhole of lacking the required temperament and moral authority to lead the ruling party.

Addressing journalists at the APC Secretariat in Airport Road, Benin City, Ojezua said that Oshiohmole having been suspended by his ward must resign as chairman of the APC.

Ojezua also alleged that Oshiomhole has orchestrated the crisis rocking the party to discredit the governor of Edo state, Godwin Obaseki and the state party executive.

He said the national chairman aims to install a forcible regime change in the state just to spite the present governor.

However reacting to Ojezua's claims, the suspended party secretary, Lawrence Okha, said the call for Oshiomhole’s resignation was laughable.

Okha said such call had emanated from members of the Obaseki/Shaibu Solidarity Movement and not APC members.

“Ojezua is the chairman of OSM and not APC. Col. Imuse is the authentic chairman of the APC and recognized by the NWC,” Okha said.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that an aide to Governor Obaseki had urged the national chairman of the APC to win elections based on performance in the state and across Nigeria.

The special adviser to Obaseki on media and communications strategy, Crusoe Osagie, said Oshiomhole's allegory of politics being like a forest with dangerous animals is a poor excuse to continue to perpetuate thuggery.
