Legendary Indian actress Gita Siddharth dies in Mumbai

The Indian movie industry known as Bollywood has experienced a great loss after the death of popular actress, Gita Siddharth. The legendary actress passed away on Saturday, December 14, in Mumbai, India.

Siddharth was a beloved actress in the Bollywood industry and a social worker. She was married to Siddharth Kak, a television host-producer and documentary filmmaker.

According to India Today, the actress, who had taken her last breath on Saturday evening, was best known for her role in M.S. Sathyu's 1973 classic Garam Hava.

Anyone who grew up watching India movies in the 70s to late 90s would remember her from the best movies then. Movies like Sholay, Trishul, Disco Dancer, Ram Teri Ganga Maili, Noorie, Desh Premee, Dance Dance, Kasam Paida Karne Wale Ki, Shaukeen, Arth, Mandi, Ek Chadar Maili Si, Gaman and Doosra Aadmi.

The deceased movie legend made her debut in Gulzar's 1972 film, Parichay.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that the Nollywood film industry once again experienced another loss after the death of actress Iyabo Bukky Osadare. The filmmaker died on November 27, 2019, after a long battle with breast cancer.

Actress Ronke Oshodioke announced Osadare’s death and also thanked Nigerians who stood by her during her sickness.
