Popular American-Senegalese music star Akon has started construction of an entire city in Africa.
The city which is called 'Wakanda' is to be built with unique features that have never been seen or experienced even in the major cities of the world.
Standard.co.uk reports that the musician revealed on a radio show that Akon City construction has begun.
The Akon City is to be built on a 2000-acre land space which has been given to the music star by the President of Senegal.
It is reported that the city which is called the 'futuristic' city in Senegal, will run solely on renewable energy.
Akon City would also be a 100% crypto-based city as transactions and daily payments would be done with cryptocurrencies.
Reports also indicate that the project is expected to finish in 10 years, with the first stage to be completed by 2025.
Speaking about his motivation for the project, the Lonely singer said that he wanted to build a legacy and provide an impact in business.
Previously, Akon has made great impacts in Africa. One major project has been to provide scaled solar power solutions throughout 18 countries.
In addition to just building 'Wakanda' in Africa, Akon has also promised to bring electricity to over 600 million people in Africa
