Buhari orders security to fish out killers of Kogi PDP woman leader
- President Muhammadu Buhari has asked for the thorough probing of the murder of Achejuh Abuh, the PDP's woman leader in Kogi state
- The president in a statement signed by his publicity aide, Femi Adesina, said the perpetrators must be brought to book
- While sympathising with the family of the victim, Buhari said nothing is worth the loss of a life and people must learn to act responsibly
President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered the immediate investigation into the cause of the murder of Mrs Achejuh Abuh, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)’s murder Kogi state following the just concluded governorship election.
He said the evildoers behind the act must be made to face the wrath of the law, irrespective of who they are.
“President Buhari charges all security agencies involved in the investigation to do a thorough and expeditious job on the matter, so that justice could be served without fear or favor.
“Such evildoers must be brought to justice, irrespective of whatever allegiances they hold,” the president said.
The position of Buhari was made known in a statement by the aide to the president on media and publicity, Femi Adesina on Sunday, November 24.
President Buhari emphasized the need for everyone to conduct themselves in a responsible manner during election and that no life is worth taking during such exercise under whatever reason.
“We must learn to behave decently, whether during elections or at other times. No life should be taken wantonly under any guise, and the fact that this reprehensible act occurred two days after voting shows primitive behavior, which should not be accepted in a decent society,” he said.
Another part of the statement also described the act as “pure criminality and besti*ality” as the president condoles with the family of the deceased.
“He sympathizes with the family of the deceased, vowing that the law would catch up with the malefactors, and justice would be done.
Any descent to barbarism, as was visited on the PDP Woman Leader, President Buhari says, has gone out of the realm of politics, and is pure criminality and bes*tiality,” the statement said.
