Kogi Decides: INEC commences official announcement of results in Bayelsa, Kogi (live updates)

Apprehension now pervades Kogi and Bayelsa as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) begins the official announcement of results of the just-concluded governorship elections in the states.

Many reports from participants and observers show that the elections were marred with violence with INEC declaring that 30 of its ad-hoc staff had gone missing in Kogi state.

There were also cases of ballot snatching by sponsored thugs while a senatorial candidate on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dino Melaye, lost a nephew.

In Bayelsa, observers called for the cancellation of results from some parts of the state owing to cases of violence and other forms of electoral malpractices.

Legit.ng had carried out a step-by-step report of activities that took place in both states on Saturday, November 16.
