Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that the Police Service Commission had rejected the recruitment list of constables reportedly released by the Nigeria police.
The commission, in a statement released on Tuesday, October 15, said the list released by the police was illegal and breached federal character principle.
Legit.ng recalled that the commission and the Nigeria police have been at loggerheads over recruitment powers.
The commission said it is saddled with the constitutional power to oversee the recruitment, discipline and promotion of police personnel while the Nigeria police also said it has powers to recruit, making reference to the Police Act.
The commission added that it has dragged the Nigeria police to court over the development and also filed for an order to restrain it from continuing with the recruitment exercise.
The commission, therefore, warned the public to be wary of the list, saying it will soon complete the authentic recruitment process and release the list of successful candidates.
