Julia Nepper: Carolina woman gets her degree at age 14, PhD at 23
- Julia Nepper, a rare genius, got her degree at 14 and PhD at the young age of 23
- Realising how gifted she was, her parents were advised to homeschool her
- The young genius said though the journey has been exciting, she is scared to go get a job
Julia Nepper, is another young genius out there, with an impressive record. At the age of 12, she got into college and got her doctorate degree at 23 from the University of Wisconsin.
According to HZeepfeed, her mother, Nadine Nepper, said they knew Julia was a talented child and also knew she was not being challenged enough.
Her mother was once told that if she wanted her daughter to excel to her full potential, she would have to withdraw her and home-school her.
That decision made her and her ex-husband home-school her for four straight years, which made her to get through college faster than others as she got an associate’s degree at age 14. She got her bachelor’s degree at 16, before she proceeded to bag her Ph.D.
“All that hard work has paid off. It’s hard to believe she was kept back in kindergarten that one year,” her mother said.
However, the young genius does not think she did anything special, saying that most people could have achieved what she got if they have the right support.
“Most of the people I’ve met, in my life, could have done what I did if they had the right support. I don’t fault my parents, pushing me, with regards to my education. Clearly, I could handle it and it worked. So they must have done something right.”
Though the journey has been very exciting for the young genius, she said she is scared to go out and get a job. The young genius is also looking forward to getting a job in Japan.
