IPPIS: ASUU threatens FG with no pay, no work
- ASUU said that there would no work no pay if federal government goes ahead with its Integrated Payment Personnel Information System
- The union said that the federal government is only using anti-corruption as a facade to force the payment policy on them
- ASUU also said that the government has gone against the rule of the law and everything it stands for
The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Ibadan zone, Sunday, October 27, told the federal government that it fails to pay up salaries of its members by the end of October, it would not hold back from going on strike.
It said its rejection is targeted at the union’s opposition of the Integrated Payment Personnel Information System (IPPIS) that was forced on them by the government.
It should be noted that the Ibadan zone of the union are made off University of Ibadan, Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, University of Osun, and Kwara State University.
ASUU said it is enforcing no pay, no work rule in its rejection of the IPPIS policy. Ade Adejumo, the zonal coordinator of the union, described the platform as new and strange.
The union, therefore, said that the anti-corruption guise that the government shielded the platform with is just a way to oppress the masses.
The zonal coordinator of said that the government has totally gone against the law in trying to force the policy on them.
ASUU also called on the government to do the needful by sitting down and addressing all the issues that the union has brought up.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that ASUU on Wednesday, October 23, after its congress told the Accountant-General of the Federation, Ahmed Idris, to face the corruption issues under him rather than accusing the union of same.
ASUU also said that that corrupt practices have become more under the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari, adding that they are many who profit from it.
The union fired at the Idris for saying that its opposition to Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS) shows that it supports corruption.
