2020 UTME: We will only register candidates with NIN - JAMB
The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board has declared that it will only register candidates with the National Identity Number (NIN) for the 2020 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
The examination board, which made the declaration via its official Twitter page on Thursday, October 17, asked prospective candidates to visit the nearest National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) centre for capturing.
The tweet read: “All candidates wishing to take the 2020 UTME must have the National Identification Number (NIN). Prospective candidates are urged to visit the nearest @nimc_ng office for their capturing.
“The Board would ONLY register candidates with NIN.”
Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) said that many Nigerian leaders started corruption by engaging themselves in examination malpractice when they were in school.
The agency made the disclosure in its weekly bulletin, in which it said corruption would grow to become a monster if it is not holistically addressed at the stage of examination malpractice.
The examination board stated that examination malpractice in the country is mostly sponsored by parents.
The agency said: “Corruption is not a peculiar African or Nigerian problem. Regrettably, most of the measures deployed to fight corruption, more often than not, fail to yield desired results.
“If the malaise of corruption is not holistically addressed at the stage of examination malpractice, which is most times sponsored by parents, it will grow to become a monster."
