A Nigerian man identified as Timilehin Ogundare has shared the story of his friend who migrated out of the country after he lost his mother to colon cancer.

Ogundare took to his social media page to state that his friend used to be passionate about Nigeria and had gone on rallies and protests on how the country could be better.

According to the filmmaker, his friend lost faith in the country after his mom got sick with rectal bleeding. The family reportedly visited 17 hospitals in two years, but no doctor could tell them what was wrong with her.

Ogundare stated that doctors told his friend’s family that they were wasting their time, noting that their mother’s illness was spiritual. The family, then, visited churches who also could not find a solution to the problem.

The filmmaker explained that his friend’s family eventually decided to take their mother to Britain, where she was diagnosed with colon cancer.

Sadly, the foreign doctors said she was in stage four with little chance for survival because she was diagnosed very late. Six weeks later, Ogundare’s friend lost his mum.

Following the incident, Ogundare said that his friend migrated to Turkey where he is now a lecturer.
