Attack on soldiers: Zamfara govt calls for emergency meeting with Fulani leaders

- Zamfara state government will be meet with Fulani leaders over killing of nine soldiers in the state

- According to the government, the meeting was to forestall future occurrence

- Meanwhile, the date of the meeting has not been announced

As a result of the recent killings of soldiers in Sunke village of Anka local government area , Zamfara government has summoned an emergency meeting with Fulani leaders.

This was disclosed by senior special assistant to Governor Bello Matawalle on Security Matters, Alhaji Abubakar Dauran, on Saturday, October 5.

According to him, the meeting was to forestall future occurrence. Meanwhile, he did not say when the meeting will be held.

Recall that Legit.ng had reported nine soldiers were reportedly killed by unknown gunmen on Thursday, October 3, at Sunke village.

Sunke community is 30 km south of Anka town, the local government headquarters.

According to report, it was a reprisal attack on the earlier killing of bandits by soldiers.

Legit.ng had also reported that the attack came few days after it was reported that hundreds of gunmen crossed through Anka and Maru local government area in Zamfara state.
