In recent times, Nigerian movie lovers have had a lot to say about two movies from two lovely filmmakers, Genevieve Nnaji and Kemi Adetiba.
The focus of their talk is mainly about their respective blockbuster movies, Lionheart and King of Boys. Some Nigerians are of the opinion that Lionheart was an overhyped movie while others disagree.
Some other Nigerians also compared King of Boys to Lionheart as they feel the former should have more recognition and international appeal because according to them, it perfectly mirrored the Nigerian society. See some comments on the subject below:
Recall that Legit.ng earlier reported that Genevieve Nnaji's Lionheart was selected by the Nigerian Oscars Selection Committee (NOSC) for consideration at the 2020 Oscars.
This is obviously another feather in Genevieve’s hat seeing as the same movie’s right was acquired by the global streaming network, Netflix on September 7, 2018.
According to The Nation, Lionheart is the first movie to be advanced to the Oscars by NOSC because other film entries did not seem to make the benchmark of their requirements.
