There's no plan to dethrone Emir Sanusi - Kano government

- Allegations of a fresh plot to remove the emir of Kano has been denied by the Kano state government

- The state government described the allegation by Renaissance Coalition as false

- The coalition had alleged that it gathered that should Emir Sanusi resists directive by the state governor to be redeployed to Bichi emirate he would be deposed of his position as the Emir of Kano

The Kano state government has denied claims by a civil society organisation that it plans to dethrone the Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II.

The state government described the allegation by a Kano group, Renaissance Coalition, on a fresh plot to dethrone the emir as false.

The group had in a statement claimed that the governor of Kano state, Abdullahi Ganduje, had concluded fresh plans to transfer Sanusi to Bichi emirate.

The group spokesperson, Ibrahim A. Waiya, alleged that it was gathered that should Emir Sanusi resists, he would be deposed of his position as the Emir of Kano.

However, in a reaction to the coalition's allegation, the chief press secretary to the governor, Alhaji Abba Anwar, said there was nothing like that on the part of the state government.

“As far as we are concerned, we are not aware of that development at all. To my knowledge there is nothing like that,” Anwar said.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that Sanusi had commended President Muhammadu Buhari for inaugurating a new economic advisory council.

Sanusi while commending the president said the new economic team for the Nigerian government is fantastic.
