Show no mercy to Boko Haram, military chief charges troops

The Theatre Commanding Officer, Operation Lafiya Dole of the Nigerian Army, Major General Olusegun Adeniyi has charged operatives to deal with Boko Haram insurgents and their supporters in the north-east.
Adeniyi gave the charge on Tuesday, September 24, when he visited the headquarters of Sector 2, Operation Lafiya Dole in Damaturu, the Yobe state capital, Daily Trust reports.
He said there is no better time than now for the troops to end the activities of Boko Haram insurgents in the region and country.
“Don’t show mercy to Boko Haram insurgents and people supporting their activities. All the commanding officers will lead you to deal with the nonsense Boko Haram,” he said.
He also pledged necessary support to flush the remnants of Boko Haram out of the country.
Meanwhile, the Nigerian Army recently announced that there is an observed massive exodus of Boko Haram and Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists out of their hideout in Lake Chad Tumbus to north and central Africa sub-regions.
Colonel Sagir Musa, the acting director of Nigeria Army public relations, disclosed this in a statement on Thursday, September 19, in Abuja.
Musa said that the combined onslaught by the troops of Nigerian Army and Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) in the region on the identified hideouts of the terrorist was responsible for their exodus.
