Miyetti Allah rejects amnesty for killer herders, bandits

- The proposed amnesty plan for some herdsmen have been rejected

- The plan was rejected by the leadership of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria sometimes (MACBAN) in Bauchi state

- The association said such plan would only attract more criminals into the 'game' of banditry, cattle rustling among many others

The leadership of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria sometimes (MACBAN) over the weekend rejected proposed amnesty plan for killer herdsmen, cattle rustlers and bandits.

MACBAN said such programme by the federal government would enable the herdsmen to engage in criminal activities.

The Bauchi state secretary for MACBAN, Sadiq Ahmad, said the move would also attract more criminals into the 'game' of banditry, cattle rustling among many others.

“Government should allow the law to take its full course. Let them serve their jail terms - even if it is a life sentence - They are bad eggs," Ahmad said.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that Abdulsalami Abubakar, a former Nigerian head of state had said that the rising conflicts in parts of the country could impact negatively on the people.

Abubakar also called for peace and unity among Nigerians of different religions, tribe and ethnicity.
