Two killed, 6 others injured in Adamawa attack

- Police have confirmed that 6 persons died during an attack in one of the local governments in Adamawa state

- Some people including a military personnel sustained injuries

- The state police public relations officer, Suleiman Yahaya, said the attackers were cattle rustlers

The Adamawa state police command has confirmed that two persons were killed while six others sustained injuries after an attack on Shaforon and Kudumti communities in Numan local government area of the state.

Channels TV reports that the incident was confirmed on Sunday, September 22, by the state police public relations officer, Suleiman Yahaya.

Legit.ng gathered that while members of the community believed that the attackers were herdsmen, the police spokesman said they were cattle rustlers.

He said that a military personnel is among those who sustained injuries, adding that officers have been deployed to join other security personnel to comb the area.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had previously reported that the Coalition Against Terrorism and Extremism (CATE) called on politicians in the northeast to back operations of the Nigerian Military in the region.

It was reported that the coalition also commended the Nigerian Army's Super Camp strategy.

The group had described the Army's strategy as the best and a long-awaited operation to end insurgency in the region.

CATE said the new strategy focuses on fighting forces in terrorists' strongholds called Super Camps with the capacity to respond swiftly to the adversary.
