Nollywood child-star Yomi Adeyemi-Wilson dies at 39 after battling illness (photo)

- Nigerian child star Oluyomi Adeyemi-Wilson has passed away at the age of 39

- The deceased made her debut as the daughter of veteran actor Olu Jacobs in a drama series

- Oluyomi was reported to have passed away on Thursday, September 12, after battling with illness

Nollywood child-star Oluyomi Victoria Olaniyi-Toluwalope (née Adeyemi-Wilson) has reportedly died at the age of 39 after battling with an undisclosed illness. The child actress was said to have died on Thursday, September 12.

Late Oluyomi became a child-star after debuting as an actress in a drama series titled the Third Eye. In the series, she acted as the daughter of an inspector played by a veteran actor, Olu Jacobs.

Till today, many who watched the series still know the girl known as Uze as the daughter of Olu Jacobs. The father-daughter duo solved criminal cases. However, in real life, she was the daughter of an engineer known as Yomi Adeyemi-Wilson.

Her father was a track star in the 1960s and 1970s. He later became an executive at Mobil Nigeria and later the first chairman of the Federal Environmental Protection Agency. He also went ahead in life becoming the president of the Athletics Federation of Nigeria in the 1990s.

Oluyomi, who was born in 1980, did not pursue her acting career instead she became a lawyer. She attended Home Science Association Nursery and Primary School in Ikoyi, Lagos and Queens College Lagos. She studied law at the University of Lagos.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that popular Nigerian screenwriter and filmmaker, Emem Isong Misodi, announced the loss of her mother. The screenwriter revealed that her mother died not long after her father passed away.
