Emmanuel Tonye Isenah: Crisis takes over Bayelsa PDP as party chieftains ask speaker to resign

Reports are emerging that there is a crisis in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Bayelsa following the push of party chieftains for state's House Assembly speaker, Emmanuel Tonye Isenah, to resign.

Some leaders of the PDP in Bayelsa were mounting pressure on Isenah to resign his position for a lawmaker from Southern Ijaw local government area so that the party can win the forthcoming election in the council, The Nation reports.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that Helen Bob, a special adviser to Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa state, was on Wednesday, September 18, sacked by her principal.

According to Fidelis Soriwei, the chief press secretary to Governor Seriake, who revealed the development, Bob was dismissed following alleged misconduct and lack of discipline.
