Serial killer terrorising women in Port Harcourt arrested by police (photo)

- A suspected notorious serial killer identified as David West has been arrested by the Rivers state police

- The 26-year-old suspected killer was caught on his way to Uyo from Port Harcourt

- Investigation is ongoing to ascertain his motives and accomplices

The Nigerian police has arrested a suspected notorious serial killer, Gracious David West, for allegedly being responsible for the death of women in Port Harcourt, Rivers state.

There has been report of killing of women in Port Harcourt in what has been suspected to be the work of a serial killer.

The suspect was arrested on Thursday, September 19, by police operatives along East-West Road where he was en route Uyo from Port Harcourt.

According to the police, the 26-year-old suspected killer who is from Buguma local government area of Rivers state is also a member of the Degbam cult group.

The police said investigation is still ongoing to unravel the motive of the suspected criminal.

Legit.ng had reported that the police claimed a suspect who was “about strangling” a woman at a hotel in the Mile 4 axis of the state was arrested.

According to Mustapha Dandaura, the state commissioner of police, the victim woke up around 2am and noticed that the suspect was about using a pillow to choke her.

The commissioner had also said the force arrested two suspects in connection with the killings.

He said one of the suspects was trailed to Kaduna state while the other was arrested after he was reported by a young woman who alleged that the suspect was trying to lure her into a hotel with a promise of N30,000.
