Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has admitted that Arsenal are giving away cheap goals to their opponents after they threw away a two-goal lead at Watford.

The Gabon international scored a brace in the 21st and 32nd minute to put the Gunners in the advantage position at Vicarage Road in the first half.

But Quique Sanchez Flores' side rallied back in the second half as they turned the two-goal deficit around to earn a draw.

Sokratis Papastathopoulos gifted Tom Cleverly a cheap goal in the 53rd minute, then David Luiz fouled Roberto Pereyra in the box and the Argentine stepped up to score the penalty with nine minutes left to play.

The Hornets almost stole the win as Gerard Deulofeu and Abdoulaye Doucoure both came close late in the game, leaving Aubameyang furious.

“Obviously we didn’t expect that [the comeback],” the 30-year-old told Canal Plus .

“We knew that they were going to try and come back with good intentions, of the kind they demonstrated in the second half.

“Sadly, we were not able to deal with them well. I feel like we are literally giving goals to the opposition, it is up to us to progress in that respect.”

The former Dortmund forward refused to mention names but insisted it would had been a different ball game if Alexandre Lacazette was not injured.

“I don’t want to accuse anyone, you could say that us the attackers could have killed the game off and score a third goal, so I am not going to say it is someone’s fault," he said.

“It is a shame to concede goals like we did… I think it [Lacazette’s absence] affects us.

“We know very well that he brings us so much in these sorts of games.”
