Akwa Ibom election: Senator Akpabio was robbed of victory - Justice Hafizu

Justice Sheriff Hafizu, a member of the National Assembly elections petition tribunal sitting in Uyo, Akwa Ibom state, in his dissenting judgement says Senator Godswill Akpabio was robbed of his victory in the February 23 National Assembly election.
He said there are evidence to prove that Akpabio, defeated Chris Ekpenyong in the election for Akwa Ibom Northwest senatorial district.
He held that Akpabio overwhelmingly won the election and ought to have been returned as the duly elected senator for Akwa Ibom North West senatorial district.
Going further, he added that INEC was wrong to have cancelled the 61,329 votes garnered by the APC in Essien Udim local government area against PDP score of 9,050 votes.

Recall that Legit.ng had earlier reported that the election tribunal, in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom state capital on Wednesday, September 11, upheld the victory of Senator Christopher Ekpenyong as the senator representing Akwa Ibom North West senatorial district.
Minister of Niger Delta, Senator Akpabio, the 1st petitioner had challenged the elections on the ground that Senator Ekpenyong was not duly elected by majority of lawful votes cast at the February 23, 2019 elections for the Akwa Ibom North West senatorial district.
