Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), says allegations that he is against a second term for Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo state are untrue.
The Nation, quoting Channels TV, reports that the APC national chairman insisted that he does not gain anything by stopping Obaseki from getting a second term.
Legit.ng gathers that Oshiomhole said his differences with the governor are not about blocking the latter’s second term bid or monetary gains from his administration.
According to the APC chairman, Obaseki confirmed that he nominated only one out of over 20 commissioners into his cabinet, at a meeting they both held with four governors.
He pointed out that he didn’t even take offence when Obaseki later removed the commissioner he nominated, along with seven others.
He said the contention was, however, about issues relating to governance and carrying political players and leaders in the party along.

Recall that Legit.ng previously reported that Governor Godwin Obaseki said there was no rift between him and Adams Oshiomhole.
Obaseki made the clarification at the Benin Airport upon his arrival in the state, following a one-month vacation.
The governor described as fake news, the reported rift with Oshiomhole over his second term ambition.
Obaseki said that the people of the state should be engaging themselves with how the government could provide good governance to them, and not petty issues.
