Boko Haram: Nigerian Army urges troops to fish out traitors in war against insurgency

- The Nigerian Army has reacted after Boko Haram insurgents attacked the Gajiram area of Borno state

- Major General Olusegun Adeniyi, the theatre commander of Operation Lafiya Dole, called on soldiers to fish out traitors in the war against terrorism

- Encouraging troops, Adeniyi expressed certainty that the military will finally emerge victorious in the war against insurgency

Following a recent attack of Boko Haram insurgents on Gajiram, the headquarters of Nganzai local government area of Borno, Major General Olusegun Adeniyi, the theatre commander of Operation Lafiya Dole, has asked soldiers to fish out traitors in the war against insurgency.

Commenting on the attack that left not less than four persons dead and eleven missing, Adeniyi on Sunday, August 25, encouraged troops to hold their grounds and fight the insurgents to a stand still as their duty requires.

Adeniyi said: “So, it is an insult for you to be here and someone says there are no soldiers. What we have discussed, implement it.

"If you have any issues, let your commander know and look out for traitors, set up a checkpoint and be checking. If we don’t stop Boko Haram logistics, this war will never finish.

“Please, let us finish this war and go home. If you have been unserious, get serious; if you are serious, get more serious.

"You are in war today, you will be at peace in another unit tomorrow. Above all, we must make up our minds that we are ending this war.

“Nigeria is before Boko Haram, it will end and Nigeria will continue. That I am sure of. The entire country is behind you, you are not the rebel.”

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that the Nigerian Army on Sunday, August 25, said it had deployed new strategies to counter resurgence of Boko Haram insurgents’ attacks in some communities in Borno.

Adeniyi made this known when he led a team of journalists on a visit to Magumeri, Gubio and Benisheik, headquarters of Magumeri, Gubio and Kaga local government areas of the state.
