Wadume: Police reportedly retrieve guns, other weapons from kidnap kingpin's houses

- The police have reportedly recovered weapons from houses belonging to the notorious kidnap kingpin, Wadume

Police detectives from the Force headquarters have allegedly recovered many guns from houses belonging to suspected kidnap kingpin, Alhaji Hamisu Bala Wadume, in Ibbi and Jalingo in Taraba state.

Daily Trust, citing an anonymous source in Ibbi, reports that the police had recovered several AK 47 and other weapons in the houses of Wadume in Ibbi and Jalingo following a search conducted by the detectives.

The source suggested it might be Wadume that revealed where he hid the guns to the police after he was rearrested.

The newspaper added that Wadume’s relatives and those operating his commercial vehicles and motorcycles were arrested in Ibbi Jalingo, Takum and Kano.

The source claimed that those arrested were people who benefited from the generosity of the kidnap kingpin.

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that the suspected kidnap kingpin allegedly confessed to having soldiers on his payroll.

The suspect was re-arrested by police after his initial arrest was thwarted by soldiers who reportedly killed three policemen.

He claimed he also sent huge amount to an army captain, Tijani Balarabe, a few weeks ago.

Wadume said he was able to avoid arrest by paying soldiers N20,000 at each security checkpoints.
