A Nigerian teenager identified simply as Adom has reportedly been jailed for stealing. The teenager, who would be 15 years old soon, was sentenced to two years in jail after being charged as an 18-year-old.

Legit.ng had come across the sad story of a teenage boy after a Twitter user narrated it on the micro-blogging platform.

The Twitter user identified simply as Barbie noted that Adom would be 15 years old in three months.

Barbie stated that the policeman who handled Adom's case had written 18 years old down as the boy's age in his report. She noted that the boy was charged as an adult when he was arraigned in court.

According to Barbie, the boy could not be helped by anyone because he is an orphan. She also noted that the boy was convicted for two years for stealing.

The lady also noted that Adom claimed that his nephew was the one who stole what he was being accused of stealing.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that a Yahoo boy was sentenced to 35 years imprisonment in Kwara state. He was sentenced to seven years in prison on each of the five-count charge brought against him by the EFCC.
