Okorocha’s daughter’s shopping complex reportedly raided by taskforce team
- A shopping mall (House of Freeda) allegedly owned by the daughter of former Imo state governor, Rochas Okorocha, has been raided by some suspected armed youths
- Eyewitnesses said the fierce-looking youths aided by armed policemen forced their way into the complex located in Owerri area of the state
- According to report, it took intervention of a detachment of policemen and soldiers to disperse the youths but the vehicles loaded with the items were driven away
No fewer than six workers of shopping mall (House of Freeda) allegedly owned by the daughter of the immediate past governor of Imo state, Rochas Okorocha, have been wounded by some suspected armed youths who invaded the complex.
The Nation reports that property and merchandise were also carted away during the invasion that was supervised by the state committee on recovery of government property.
According to eyewitnesses, the fierce-looking youths aided by armed policemen forced their way into the complex that houses several businesses owned by individuals not related to the former governor and started carting away electronic appliances and other expensive items that were displayed for sale.

One of the sales representatives who didn’t want to be mentioned, alleged that the rampaging thugs also made away with N12.5 million cash.
One of the vehicles belonging to the Reach FM, a radio station suspected to be owned by a member of the Okorocha’s family was impounded and the driver beaten to stupor.
It took the intervention of a detachment of policemen and soldiers to disperse the youths but the vehicles loaded with the items were driven away.
Recall that the committee had during a press conference alleged that the former governor and his family made away with 67 vehicles belonging to the state government.
The media adviser to the governor, Steve Osuji, said the committee acted on a tip-off from a whistleblower who hinted them that government vehicles and other items were parked in the complex.

Osuji said the committee members who were on official duty were attacked by thugs hired by the owners of the complex, in an attempt to prevent them from carrying out their legitimate assignment.
Earlier, Legit.ng reported that the committee on the recovery of Imo government property alleged that about N50 billion worth of property belonging to the state was discovered to be missing after Okorocha left office.
Jasper Ndubuaku, the chairman of the committee, said this on Wednesday, June, 26, at a press conference in Owerri, while speaking on the recoveries so far made by the committee.
