Burna Boy wins 2019 BET Best International Act award

Burna Boy has been announced the 2019 winner of the best international act category of BET Awards.

The talented singer floored Teni Makanaki and Mr Eazi to win the coveted category in the award. The award was received by his mum who also doubles as his manager.

'Every black person should remember, you were Africans before you became anything else,' the singer's mum tells Africans in diaspora in her acceptance speech.

This is the 19th edition of Bet Awards. Nigerian pop star, Davido won the same category in 2018 and was presented with his award during the live performance at the 18th edition.

The rapper with 7 nominations went on to win the award for Album of year with her album, 'Invasion of Privacy'. Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, 2Baba and DBanj are other Nigerian acts that have won the BET award
